about
Rachael Vaughan Clemmons (she/they) is a writer. This is what it looks like when she tries to take a nice picture in a scenic village in Portugal.
A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Rachael studied sketch at UCB and was a recipient of their Diversity Scholarship. Her sketch, “Catcall Revolution,” was featured and performed at Magnet Theater’s Lady Sketch Lab, where she also co-directed. Their pilot, “DEADWEIGHT,” — part comedy, part romance, part oh-shoot-maybe-I-killed-someone — was a semi-finalist for the 2020 Sundance Episodic Lab. In the summer of 2024, she was selected as a resident for St. Nells, a humor writing residency for womxn.
She’s done just about every kind of writing, from being a literal gossip girl for a now-defunct NYC paper to pop culture journalism, sketch writing, screenwriting, poetry, and personal essays. Their work explores themes of race, gender, sexuality, and horniness through comedy. Her greatest dream is to bring lusty rom-coms back on main.
